Taxes/ Fees:

A) When buying a home in B.C. there is Property Purchase Tax based on:   of 1% on the first $200,000 and 2% on the balance of the purchace price.

B) H.S.T. is applicable on all new construction and land; there may be rebates for purchases under $480,000.

C) When selling a non-principal residence keep in mind that you may incur a Capital Gain or a Capital Loss. If you are unsure please check with your accountant for clarification.

D) There may be some first time homeowners tax breaks available –check latest qualifications.
